Wednesday night, Nas’ and Damian Marley’s »Distant Relatives« tour took them to Tollwood Festival in Munich and the show was epic.
Not only did they perform a brilliant 2-hours-live-set including most – if not all – of the tunes from their Grammy-deserving collaborative studio album as well as their biggest solo joints, Nas also happened to wear our »Words, Power & Sound« T-shirt throughout the second half of the gig.
It’s hard to describe how it feels to have one of the biggest rappers this planet has ever seen representing in seen. – it’s probably the easiest to say pretty damn good and we definitely count our blessings…
Thanks a million, Max and Julian, for making this happen!
Dour 2010 kicked off today and we asked one of tonight’s top acts to lose a few words about the festival – Schlachthofbronx. Here’s what they got to say:
We’re so much looking forward to our show tonite at Dour festival. Always had great audience in belgium, and from what we heared its really an experience to play there. Bring your airhorns, people!
On our stage will also play Highbloo, DJ Zinc and Count & Sinden tonite. We hope we’ll have time to check out all of them! Also playing on Thursday is Moderat, they played a great set at Roskilde, def wanna check them out again.
Also kool of course would be to catch A-Trak, Douster, The Very Best, Skream, Benga, Brodinski, Capleton, Mr. Vegas, Fagget Fairys and more, but we’ll have to leave for Melt festival on Friday already…
Our Munich fellows from Schlachthofbronx are slowly but surely warming up for a hot festival season which will take them from Copenhagen (Distorsion) via Grafenhainichen (Melt!) to L.A. (Hardfest) – many stops included.
And they now teamed up with XLR8R magazine to put together number 131 of the XLR8R podcast series to provide the world with some hot audio material to warm up as well.
Good thing for all XLR8R editors which have obviously been forced to listen to the Bronx’s 13-minute »Belly Full of Pills« mix approximately 400 times in their office since ever their colleague Ken Taylor picked that one up.
As usual, Bene and Jakob have quite some Jamaican chunes in their new mix as well, but read and listen yourself:
