Gotta big up Gabe for doing an incredible job designing and layouting the lookbook as well as Marko Petz who did the photographs. Also: thanks, Tim Turbo, for modeling!

Checking in with M.I.A. protege Rye Rye, this video visits the rising star in the studio working on her yet as unreleased album and at a WWD Daily photo shoot. The 18-year-old Baltimore native shares the story of how she came up, a few dance moves and what she likes to rap about. (via Attorney Street via Cool Hunting)
On Friday 18th September, Nike Sportswear and Mercury Music Prize winning recording artist Dizzee Rascal will release the very special, and strictly limited, Nike Air Max 90 ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’ sneaker. Lean back, watch those videos and watch out for tomorrow´s wicked “Veesn” special. Yes, it´s that time of the year again: Oktoberfest. And we´ll use the kick-off day of the beer-soaked madness as an opportunity to introduce you to a major mug-full of “New Munich” aka “Nu Minga” hypeness.
For this season’s video documenting São Paulo Fashion Week’s summer shows, we narrow our sights on the the bikini. With help from a few fashion types—editors, models, designers and others—we take a look at the most quintessentially Brazilian wardrobe staple.
Well, here we go: photographers Giovanni Powell and Gladstone Taylor have quite a few shots of CFW09 in their portfolios. It´s kind of sad though that they haven´t added any information about the collections shown on their pictures. I´d be especially interested in the designer of the very simple and clean business women collection you see e.g. here. Anybody out there who knows?
Btw: More fashion stuff will follow this week, as I´ll be heading to Berlin Fashion Week which will e.g. see the homecoming of the Bread & Butter trade show. Stay tuned. Pssst: We might even give you a sneak preview of the new seen. collection.
With the Caribbean Fashion Week coming up, I was asking myself once again why there is still no Jamaican street fashion blog out there and why there isn´t even one single Jamaican submission on sites like Lookbook.nu which has pictures from e.g. Malaysia, Mexico and Brazil.
Is it the lack of money for equipment? Is it the lack of access to the online world? Is it Jamaicans not being interested in style and fashion? Is it the lack of attractive people?
I don´t think so. Look at the music business which has always been at the edge of the technological evolution. Look at sites like the Afflicted Yard and the vast number of Jamaicans on social networks like Facebook and Hi5. Look at pictures from back in the days as well as shots from today. Look at these girls.
